Formica Laminate Grades & Applications

• Grade 12/HGP (0.039") – Designed for countertops and horizontal postforming, tight radius bends, and postformed edges.
• Grade 20/VGP (0.028") – Best for cabinet doors, vertical panels, and wall applications.

Formica Sheets for Countertops

• Grade: Grade 12. Square edge or postformed, it is the countertop grade.
• Patterns: 180fx marble and granite looks, quartz and stone patterns, and solid colors. Stone patterns from every brand we carry: Stone laminate sheets.
• Sheet size: 4'×8' covers one straight run up to 8 feet. L-shaped counters and islands take 4'×10' or 5'×12'.
• Edges: Laminate the front edge strip first, then the top. Finish exposed panel edges with matching Formica edge banding.

Formica Laminate Finishes & Color Options

Formica offers hundreds of decorative laminate sheets in matte, gloss, textured, and specialty finishes. Matte (-58) is the standard texture on solid colors, patterns, and woodgrains.

Installation & Fabrication Support

Formica laminates are engineered for easy installation with MDF, particleboard, and plywood substrates.

• Cutting: Use carbide-tipped saw blades or router bits.
• Bonding: Works with standard contact cement and PVA glue.
• Edge Banding: Matching Formica edge banding (always in stock at LEDGEBAND).
