Laminate Thickness Selection
Formica High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is available in two primary grades: Postforming and Vertical. Each grade is engineered for specific applications, offering unique characteristics to meet diverse design and functional requirements.
General Purpose Grade: General Purpose Grade (HGS) (1.1mm thickness) is ideal for both horizontal and vertical interior applications.
Postforming Grade: Postforming Grade laminates(0.9mm thickness) are primarily designed for horizontal surfaces that experience frequent use and require enhanced durability. These laminates are thicker than their Vertical Grade counterparts, providing superior resistance to wear and tear. Common applications include:

Vertical Grade: Vertical Grade laminates (0.7mm thickness) are specifically formulated for surfaces that typically experience less direct impact and wear. What is Formica laminate?
Formica laminate is High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a versatile and durable surface material widely utilized in architecture, furniture design, and various interior applications. HPL consists primarily of layers of kraft paper sheets, which are impregnate with phenolic resin and the decorative layer is treated with melamine resin to enhance aesthetics. These layers are then pressed together under high heat (around 300°F) and pressure (over 1000 psi), resulting in a robust sheet that can withstand significant wear and tear.
Easy Installation
Formica laminate can be bonded to substrates like plywood, particle board, or MDF using standard contact cement for a seamless application.
Several types of adhesives can be used to apply Formica laminate sheets, but the most commonly recommended and widely used option is contact cement.

Contact Cement: This is the industry standard for laminate installation. It provides a strong, immediate bond. Contact cement is available in two main varieties:
Solvent-based Contact Cement: Offers the strongest bond and is preferred for professional installations. However, it has strong fumes and requires good ventilation.

To cushion the sheet and protect it from any potential impact during transit, we wrap it in foam. This foam layer acts as a shock absorber, ensuring that the laminate sheet remains undamaged even if the package is jostled or dropped.
- But we don't stop there. The foam-wrapped core is then placed inside a robust box, providing an additional layer of protection. This box is designed to withstand the rigors of shipping, ensuring that the laminate sheet inside remains secure and undamaged.
